Midwest United proudly announces the 7th annual Midwest United Cup (formerly Crew Cup), August 21-23rd 2015. Teams will compete from all across the Midwest and Canada for the prestigious Midwest United Cup. Our main facility is the state-of-the-art MVP Fieldhouse and additional sites will be all within 20 mins of our central location, with Hotels all located next to MVP. The other main sites are Brewer Park and Riverfront Park which boasts 8 grass fields each in great condition. Only local GVSA teams will play Friday night games, unless otherwise requested.
This tournament provides an excellent pre-State Cup and pre-season event with quality competition and venues and stress free check-in at MVP. All coaches will be accommodated to avoid game conflicts. The tournament is sanctioned by MSYSA and US Soccer. Experience the great atmosphere of downtown Grand Rapids and we are close to the West Michigan Beaches if you have time between games. The Hotels are all right on 28th St close to the Mall so there is plenty to do between games!
In our first year we hosted 125 teams from all of the state and beyond, this figure rose to 175 in 2010. In 2011 we had 220 teams and in 2013 we had over 340 teams, making this the fastest growing tournament in the Midwest!! Due to the success of these tournaments and also our Crew Spring Classic in March, we have had a lot of early club interest in this years event. We expect to attract over 340 teams again and make this tournament even better than before!
The Showcase segment we ran for the past three years for the U16-U18G was a huge success. We had very good competition and lots of representation from many Midwest college coaches. All top level showcase games are played at the same location which give the coaches an excellent opportunity to scout multiple players. Last year we had 4 showcase flights with 16 teams in each, resulting in excellent competition and exposure.

Team acceptance to the Midwest United Cup will be completed by the "Selection Committee". Notifications are sent to all teams. The selection process is assisted by the information provided to the tournament on your application- example - team records, level of play, out of town/state vs local teams (to achieve a balance), performance in post-season tournaments including the "Crew Cup", etc. It is important to provide as much information as possible to assist the committee in properly evaluating your team. Cashing of the entry fee does not indicate acceptance to the tournament. No teams will be accepted until after the deadline.
The 2015 Midwest United Cup has again teamed up with its official housing service, Traveling Teams, to bring your team the utmost service for its housing needs. This will help make the process of reserving rooms easier and more reliable. If you wish to participate in the 2015 Midwest United Cup, you must use one of the hotels provided by Traveling Teams (unless you are a commuting team).
